History:
Rickys work with Beggars opera has also appered on various compilations. In 1976 Ricky recorded on the Low album with David Bowie at Chateaux d'Heroville Paris. It was while working here that Ricky first met Iggy Pop.

1977 saw Ricky rehearsing in Berlin with David and Iggy. Later on in the year saw them touring Britain and America with Hunt and Tony Sales to promote the Idiot. Following the tour the group returned to Berlin to record the legendary Lust for Life album.

Late Autumn of the year Ricky went back to London to overdub guitar top line for the BBC's Top of the Pops version of Heros with David Bowie for Tony Visconti. This work is often incorectly accredited to Robert Fripp - pax!

This is frequently used on the BBC and appears on Dancing in the street video.

1978 Ricky set up his own home recording studio and become a father. He started writing meditation music and exploring the use of computers in music. The Flood a computer piece was written in 1985.

Through 1987 and 1988 Ricky composed a symphony for computer, guitar and voice called Precious life, this work featured Delme Bry Jones. With Virginia Scott and Trevor Stainsby Kumara was formed in 1994. Confluence a haunting ambiant album was later released.

Lately Ricky has released a Passenger CD and video, of Rock songs. These songs show Ricky in eccentric mode and may be of interest to film makers. After all he's a musician and from Edinbourgh! Ricky Gardiner also collaborates in serious contemprary compositions with Virginia A. Scott. Expect future work form Kumara and more Rock
